Yamaha Enters the Indian Scooter Segment


Yes, Yamaha has made its entry in the scooter segment in India with its much awaited sporty and stylish Scooter named Yamaha Ray. It was first seen Delhi Auto Expo 2012. Ray is Yamaha’s first entry in the scooter segment, however they have an array of Motorcycles. With RAY the company’s aim is to target rapidly growing Indian scooter segment. The company also aims at acquiring about 20% of India’s scooter segment by 2016.

Ray was launched in Hyderabad on 14th September 2012. Ray’s target customer are young college students and working women. The sleek and stylish Ray has never-seen-before looks. The angled front portion catches the attention. Another striking features are the light weight body and high efficiency. The bike is equipped with an air-cooled 4-stroke 113cc engine. The compact size and light weight ensures easy handling. The smooth start-up, acceleration and pick-up are few features worth a mention.
