At the 2009 Geneva Motor Show India’s very own Tata Motors unveiled its new concept luxury sedan designed by Pininfarina- Tata Prima.
Here’s a look at the new Tata Prima:
Tata shows it’s versatility from the launch of its Rs.1 lakh Tata Nano to its brand new luxury sedan the Tata Prima. The Tata Prima concept exudes an overall elegance, endowed with style, luxury and comfort and proportions that are classical yet modern. The Prima is a preview of a new lower-premium sedan that will go on sale in Europe next year. The company plans to start manufacturing from next year (2010) onwards. It will be built in India, with a planned launch in Europe by 2011. But its entry into the Indian markets has yet not been decided.
The Tata Prima’s large wheelbase of 2.70 meters endows it with excellent interior space that a luxury sedan demands along with a 1600cc engine. Fitted with a 1.6 or 1.8-litre petrol engine or a 1.8-litre common-rail diesel, a Prima-based luxury sedan could actually be the car with which Tata Motors can take on competition from Germany and Japan.
