The horseshoe shaped fall is located near Jagdalpur, a small city in the state of Chhattisgarh. Chitrakoot falls are located in the middle of Vindhya ranges. The waterfall is formed by the Indravati River in Chattisgarh region which is a tributary of Narmada.
