Pune, the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra is considered to be the state's cultural capital.  The city used to be very traditional and conservative, but times have changed. The city is not the conservative small town of the old, but now is a much more open-minded developed city. Situated on the leeward side of the Western Ghats of India, the city of Pune enjoys a pleasant weather round the year. The temperature remains moderate the round the year. Pune climate and weather does not experience much extremists and this one of the reasons that makes Pune favorable for visiting throughout the year. Pune enjoys the magic of the three important seasons; the monsoon, the winter and the summer. Every season here has its own splendor.

Summer
The summer season in Pune stretches on from March to July. The mornings are cool and pleasurable and the evenings are pleasant and breezy. However, daytime is often characterized by dry heat. If you are planning to visit the city in summer it is advisable to carry sunscreen, sunglasses and umbrellas with you. The average maximum temperature ranges between 38 deg C and 20 deg C. The nights in Pune are significantly cooler than most other parts in this region due to the city’s high altitude.
Monsoon
The monsoons are from mid-July to October. The city receives generous amount of rainfall every year, which takes the humidity to a high level. The average temperature in the monsoon season ranges between 18 deg C to 30 deg C. Most of the parts of Pune are hilly regions and ample shows during the monsoon make them lush green adding life to the city. Ample rainfall also helps the fertile soil of Pune to yield ample crops. Monsoons in Pune receive huge influx of tourists every year. This is the time when you think to go out and have fun. Winter
