Useful Hindi Phrases For Travel in India

Useful Hindi Phrases For Travel in India

India is a hot tourist destination and also a hotspot for business travelers alike. India is said to the most culturally, linguistically and genetically diverse geographical entity after the African continent.

Traveling through this ancient land is an experience that is beyond description. If you love looking closely into the way of life of the people, enjoying ethnic culture, resplendent colors, magnificent monuments, historic cities, forts and palaces, beautiful coasts and the giant snow-capped Himalayas, then India is the place for you!!

India however, can be a very diverse and complex country; some say it causes a sensory overload at times. Although Indians speak a number of different languages across different states, Hindi is the national language. Although English is widely spoken in the bigger cities, it’s handy to know a few phrases in the local language and communicate at a more personal level with people around you to get around better. Plus, it’ll earn you some cool points with the locals and enhance your India travel experience.

Here are some easy but useful Hindi phrases to make communicating in India easier:-

Hindi Travel Phrases

These Hindi phrases may help lift the veil of this ‘exotic’ language with the primary goal of helping travelers who wish to visit India. I have best tried to spell the pronunciations phonetically in English, but they may be pronounced differently in different parts of India as many native speakers are quite used to regional accents and mangling in various degrees.
