Upcoming Small Cars in India in 2011

The war is on. The automobile industry in India has become a battlefield for many car makers (national and international). Each competing for a bite of the great profit pie that is expanding exponentially. It is said that Indian automobile industry is increasing 40% every year. The potential buyer base in India has increased drastically and Indian automobile industry will soon become one of the powerful market leaders. One area with the cut throat competition is the small car segment.

The carmakers that were initially into sedans or SUV’s are also entering the small car segment. Many of these automakers have already opened their manufacturing plants in India and rest are on their way. Each player is putting in their best to retain their market share and deliver their best. Today’s buyer is looking for cars that are comfortable, affordable, equipped with latest technology, extreme engineering models, killer looks.

Earlier there were very few small cars available in the market and if you see Indian Roads now….. they are flooded with such small and compact cars. It is all because of the economic book in India. The middle class section or to be precise the upper middle class segment in India has expanded and so is the need of a four-wheeler. Keeping in mind the affordability criteria… the car manufacturers are now coming with models which are small, affordable and still have notch facilities.
