Monsoon in India starts as early as end of June and lasts up till September. This is one season when the natural landscapes of the country are in full bloom. People from major cities head towards nearby hill stations or high altitude places to enjoy the rains. Indian monsoon is all about foggy environment, drenched trees, lush green surroundings and aromatic wet soil.

Jog Waterfalls -The Tallest in India : Jog waterfalls are the tallest waterfalls in India and in Asia as well. These waterfalls are situated about 380kms away from Bangalore, Karnataka. They are located on NH (National Highway) 206 that connects Honovar to Tumkur. The village where this fall is situated is called Kargal Village. The height of the Jog Waterfalls is 830 feet. There are four cascades of the fall known as Raja, Rani, Roarer and Rocket. There are various waterfalls in India that fall from high altitude and Jog waterfall tops that list. It is also called as "Gerusoppe falls", "Gersoppa Falls" and "Jogada Gundi". These Falls are one of them. Jog falls also known as the untiered waterfalls in India because unlike other waterfalls they fall directly without streaming on the rocks.
Chitrakoot Falls - The Largest Waterfall in India : Chitrakoot waterfalls, popularly known as Niagara falls of india, is the largest waterfall in India that falls from a height of about 100 feet and widens up to 150 meters in peak rainy season. The horseshoe shaped fall is located near Jagdalpur, a small city in the state of Chhattisgarh. This fall is situated in Vindhyachal Ranges, which are stretched between Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. River Indravati, a tributary of Narmada, is the main source of this waterfall. During monsoon the waterfall turns wild and violent. Chitrakoot waterfall is best seen during and after the monsoon, between July and October. The chitrakoot is also a religious Hindu Pilgrimage center. Thousands of pilgrims come here for Hari darshan and pay their homage to the God Hari. Who ever comes to Chitrakoot makes sure to visit Chitrakoot Waterfall at least once.
Thommankuthu Waterfall - A Seven Step Waterfall : If you are a nature lover plus an adventure lover than Thommankuthu waterfall is a place you must visit. The waterfall is a beautiful seven-step waterfall offering pleasant weather. The cascade waterfall is located 20 km away from Thodupuzha, one of the major towns in Idukki district of Kerala and 74 kms from Cochin. Thommankuthu is an eco-tourism project run by Government of Kerala in cooperation with the Forest Department of Kerala. The seven step water falls that drop down a rock from a height of 1500 meters is a popular and favorite picnic spot. Each cascade has its own pool which is an attractive feature of the fall. Tourists interested in adventure travel can seek a 12km long trek to reach the Thommankuthu waterfall.
Alleppey : Alleppey often referred to as 'Venice of the East', figures prominently on the tourist trail as one of the major centers for backwater boat trips, served by ferries to Quilon and Kottayam in particular. Palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expanse of paddy fields and the neat tiny hamlets lined up along either sides of the canals are sights one can never forget.
Dudhsagar waterfall - An Ocean of Milk : Set amidst a breathtaking landscape resplendent with the verdant greenery of the western ghat mountains, the Dudhsagar waterfall is a prime tourism destination in Goa. Literally meaning 'sea of milk' in native Konkani, the Dudhsagar falls appears to be milky streaks cascading down the mountainside. At a height of 310m i.e. 1017 feet appx, Dudhsagar is the fifth highest waterfall in India and ranks 227th in the world. he tourists who visit Dudhsagar waterfalls prefer swimming in the calm waters. It is safe to swim but one needs to be careful. The Dudhsagar waterfalls provide a breathtaking view from the top so the adventurers could try and climb up to the head of the falls through bushes, boulders and water which looks fabulous at the dawn. It might take up to couple of hours but it’s worth it. Dudhsagar is a place where even if you spent entire day you feel like you could have spent some more time.
