The Scintillating Beaches of Goa

  • Guide Rating:
The Scintillating Beaches of Goa

What comes to your mind when you think of Goa?  It is sun, sand, surf, party, fun and the pristine beaches crowded by people from all across the globe. Goa is undoubtedly the most popular tourist destination in India. Goa, though the smallest state of India, has the maximum number of tourist inflow. Each year millions of tourists (domestic and international) travel to Goa.

Goa has about a 100 km coastline and has a total of about 50 beaches. All these beaches are breathtaking and beautiful. Out of these stupendous beaches some are way too crowded and some are silent and calm. But one thing common in all these beaches is the beauty and charm. Goa, being a tourist hot spot, is a party hub too. During night many of the beach side restaurants and hotels organize beach parties and the scene is awesome.

After a few rape and extortion cases that took place last year, the Goan Government has now decided to ban bikinis on the beaches. That could be a little disappointing for the international tourists. Otherwise all these beaches provide exclusive and probably the widest array of water sports. These activities include swimming, banana boat ride, river cruising, windsurfing, para-sailing, dinghy sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, water skiing, surfing, water scooting, Jet skiing and many others. The best way to explore Goa is by hiring motor bikes which are available on daily rental basis. And you should have atleast 4- 5 days in hand to visit this place and to explore most of the famous tourist spots. Here we have listed a few of the popular beaches of Goa. The beach is named after a girl "Dona Paula de Menzes", who was the daughter of the Viceroy, who fell in love with a local fisher man and wanted to marry him.
