The Magnificent Waterfalls of India

During Monsoon (Rainy Season) India receives plenty of rainfall in the tropical regions and thus the foothills of different mountain ranges turn into abode of some magnificent and beautiful waterfalls. These waterfalls not only gratify the natural beauty but also attract thousands of visitors each year. Once you are here you’ll find yourself to be in possession of nature and would cherish each moment spend.  Be it North, East, West or South every region of the country is hoarded with some of the pristine waterfalls and natural beauty. Water being the basic element of life and it attracts each one of us in the form of waterfalls, streams and small rivers running down the mountains. You can not resist the beauty of these waterfalls and would want to visit again and again.

Abbey Waterfall, Karnataka
Abbey Waterfall which is located in Kodagu, in the Western Ghats in Karnataka, India. It is located 10 km from the town of Madikeri and 270 km from Bangalore.

Sathodi Falls, Karnataka
Sathodi waterfalls are formed by several small streams near Kallaramarane Ghat in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka. The Fall is 32 km away from Yellapur and falls from a height of 15 meters (49.2 feet). The best time to visit the falls is in winters i.e. from early November to the end of February because during monsoon it is wild and hostile which is a risky affair.

Perunthenaruvi Waterfall, Kerala
Perunthenaruvi Water Falls 15 km from Pathanamthitta Town. Located on the Western Ghats of Sahyadri Range, Perunthenaruvi is famous for the waterfalls.

Meenmutty Falls, Kerala
The Fall is located 45 km from Trivandrum city in Thiruvananthapuram district in the state of Kerala, India. The waterfall is situated near the Neyyar reservoir and there is no transportation available. so, one has to trek through the dense forests to reach the falls.

Amboli Falls, Maharashtra
1 km from Amboli. Amboli is a hill station in southern Maharashtra.The falls is well known for its fresh and pleasing environs. The fall falls from a height of 400 ft and is located in the district of Sindhudurg.

Savdav WaterFalls, Maharashtra
Located 10 Kms from Kankavli town. It is the seasonal waterfall that flourishes in monsoon only. So the best season to visit this fall would be in between July and September. It's advised to travel by your own vehicle as frequency of State Transport buses is very less.

Umbrella Falls
50 km from Nashik, or 45 km from Kasara railway station. The fall is located in Ahamednagar district of Maharashtra.

Hogenakkal Tamil Nadu
Hogenakkal Falls or Hogenakal Fallsare located on the Kaveri (or Cauvery) River in Dharmapuri district of the southern Indian state Tamil Nadu.

Kiliyur waterfalls near Yercaud, Tamil Nadu
Kiliyur Falls lies in the Shervaroyan hill range in the Eastern Ghats of Tamil nadu, India. The waters overflowing the Yercaud Lake fall 300 feet (90 m) into the Kiliyur Valley and is situated at a distance of 2.5 km from Yercaud lake.

Courtallam / Kutrallam, Tamil Nadu

Papanasam Waterfall, Tamil Nadu
The Papanasam waterfall is formed when the river Tamravarni on the Western Ghats reaches the plains at Papanasam and then it drops to form a small waterfall. This waterfall is also one of the pilgrim center as it is believed that a bathe in the holy water absolves all sins. Papanasam (meaning absolution of sins) an important pilgrim center in the state of Tamil nadu.

Silver Cascade, Tamil Nadu
The Silver cascade waterfall is located in the district of Dindigul in Southern state of Tamil Nadu. The fall is about 8 km away from the major tourist attraction Kodaikanal, which in one of the best tourist destination for newly weds.

Banatheertham falls, Tamil Nadu
Karaiyar Dam is became popular as the Roja dam after the song "Dil hai Chhota sa" from the film "Roja" was shot here. Karaiyar Dam is around 20 km from the Town of Papanasam in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu.To reach Bana falls you have to catch a boat from the Karaiyar dam and an 20 min cruise will take you to Banatheertham falls.
