Pune's First Beauty Parlor Exclusively for Transgenders

The ‘Purple Lotus Beauty Salon and Training Academy’, the first beauty parlor for transgender in Pune was inaugurated on Monday afternoon at the Rameshwar Market in Budhwar Peth, in it’s own unique style. The unique selling point of the parlor is that it is solely dedicated to transgender and will dole out beauty treatments to them. This unique facility will not only give the transsexuals the solution to their all beauty problems but will also allow them means of livelihood and free space in life. This is off course much better and respectful than prostitution and begging.

Purple Lotus Beauty Salon aims to give the clients a service and experience that satisfy all their needs. The range of make-ups and skin care products are especially chosen to ensure that clients receive satisfactory results from each beauty treatment. The experienced therapists have all the special training and equipments to carry out the necessary treatments and provide the clients adequate undivided attention to meet their needs. This parlor has been started by Swapnil Sikchi, an activist in a Pune-based NGO, the Samapathik Trust, which works with homosexuals and transsexuals under a community initiative to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS in Pune.
