Palace on Wheels: The Full Itinerary

India has always been very popular for the grand endeavors, rich and royal past. Therefore, if you are thinking of a luxurious vacation then India should top your list of destinations. You can splurge in the royalties of the past, which is a dream come true for anyone. You get to say like Kings and Queens and get the same treatment from the people around.

If anybody gets a chance of such a vacation, I am sure no one is ready to miss it. “Palace on wheels” as you can guess by the name is a virtual 5 star palace running on wheels. It is a name given to a train that takes you around 7 exotic cities of India for a duration of 7 nights and 8 days. The train is listed in the top 10 luxurious trains of the world. The 7 day trip across the royal cities of India will give you an experience of a lifetime.

Palace on wheels gives you an experience to travel like a monarch in the regal splendor. The train consists of 14 coaches named after the great princely states of Rajasthan. Each coach has 4 twin bed chambers well equipped with modern amenities like intercom, e-commerce, satellite phone, channel music, attached toilets, hot and cold water facility and shower. These coaches or saloons are decorated beautifully with ethnic Rajasthani paintings and wall-to-wall carpets.

  • Bharatpur
  • Bikaner
  • Bundi
  • Dholapur
  • Dungarpur and
  • Jaisalmer

The seven day long journey takes you to the magnificent cities of Rajasthan and gives you a glimpse of the royal and rich by gone era. Most of the nights are spent on-board in the luxurious saloons of “Palace on Wheels” and days are spent in sight seeing.

The Itinerary :
Day 01 – Wedenesday: Delhi Cantt Railway Station
The royal journey begins from Delhi. The train is ready at 16:00 hrs and the hosts are ready to welcome the guests. Passengers are warm welcomed with grand celebrations in a traditional way. The train departs from Delhi Cantt. Railway station to Jaipur at 17:45 hours. Dinner served at 20:00 hrs.

Day 02 – Thursday: Jaipur, Rajasthan
  • Arrival: 00.00 hrs
  • Breakfast on Board: 7.30-8.15 hrs
  • Sight seeing: 8.30-12.30hrs
  • Lunch at a Palace Hotel: 13.00-14.30hrs
  • Sight Seeing: 14.30-16.45 hrs
  • Departure for Jaisalmer: 17:30 hrs
  • Dinner on Board: 20.00 hrs

Day 03 – Friday: Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
  • Arrival: 6.15 hrs

  • Lunch on Board and Rest: 13.00 – 14.30 hrs
  • Visit To Sand Dunes and Camel Ride: 17.00 – 19.00 hrs

  • Departure for Jodhpur: 23.00 hrs
