MTV Splitsvilla - Episode No.1

Ok after the fabulous start of Splitsvilla, the games have actually began. In the first show, the girls enter Splitsvilla and meet the boys face to face. As described in the earlier post, Splitsvilla is located in Goa. Set on the backgrounds of the beautiful beaches and awesomely set up romantic surroundings, the 20 girls start off with all their tactics.

In the beginning of the first show, the girls find where they will be spending the next coming days. In a huge villa which looks like every girl's paradise, the girls go looking around and claiming their rooms. They get to know who they will be sharing their rooms with. Then the girls are informed that they are going to meet the boys for the first time. Not knowing what to expect or even who the boys are going to be, the girls dress up their best and set out to create the first impression which is supposedly the most crucial.

One by one, they step out to meet the boys. Some do succeed in creating a lasting impression while others don't. To add to their surprise, Ranvijay announces that some girls are going to be eliminated then and there itself. And so the elimination starts. Both Varun and Vishal call out the names of the girls they want to stay back and the ones they want to dump. One of the dumped girls was Akansha who couldn't believe that she has been dumped. It was a hard blow for her and the other girls.

So with that note, the girls entered into the arena of what exactly Splitsvilla is all about. As the show claims - ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!!

The party, the dances and all that jazz

After the shocking eliminations, a party by the poolside was arranged and all the girls run back to their rooms to get into their best party dresses and make-ups. There was a huge rush as you could see some girls clothes flying out of the suitcases, mirrors being hoarded, hairs being styled, bathroom doors being banged. A typical girls room. Then they all got ready to party.

The ambiance was lit up with a dance floor, music playing in the background, a canopy tied up for sitting area, a bar set-up. It looked real nice. But the only thing missing were the boys. Without wasting any time, the girls hit the dance floor. After some time, the guys entered and the whole place turned into what can only be called every boy's dream come true. The girls started clamoring for attention from the boys. Some of them however preferred not to participate in neither the dancing nor the pouncing. They just kept to themselves. In all the party was a success where some of the girls like Simran offered to teach Varun how to Salsa. Some of them got chances to open up with the guys more which was a disadvantage to the rest of the girls. Later the guys left the party leaving the girls wanting more of their glimpse.

The girls were in for yet another surprise.
The upcoming star of 'Woodstock villa' and 'Summer 2007' Sikander Kher came on the sets of Splitsvilla to meet the girls. The girls were overjoyed to see him. He gave them many pointers as to what does a guy really look for in a girl and how they must be themselves and be confident and all that. After the prep talk the girls retired back to their rooms.

The votings and Dates

The next morning all the girls were called down for a voting session. Ranvijay asked the girls to vote one person they think should not be in the show. The girls set out to the task and voted out Heena, Simran, Annie, Vani, Richa and Meenakshi who got the maximum number of votes. These girls were separated from the rest and asked to sit aside. Then to the surprise of the other non-voted girls, Ranvijay said that these girls had a chance to go on a date with the boys. It was a scene of mixed reactions. While the girls were voted out with the fear of elimination, they had an advantage above the others.

The girls set out for their dates. The boys in turn were surprised to know that 6 people were voted out. At the date, Varun gets along well with Annie and even asks her to dance on the table. To which she agrees like a good sport and puts up a good show. The other person the guys get well along with was Heena. Meenakshi was amusing with her 'sher-shayari' and reciting a poem she wrote for herself and dedicated it from the guys to her. In all everyone seemed to have good fun.

The final elimination

After the dates, the girls planned to play a trick on the no-voted girls saying that now they were safe and the latter had to face the eliminations. That caused a lot of 'oohs' and 'aahhs' with the girls getting all hyper. However, the truth was finally told and the girls came for elimination.

At the elimination, the voted girls all lined up to face the music. The guys called out Heena saying she needs to be careful not to be over-confident(wonder, what happened!). Then this was the ultimate blow - Richa, who was a favorite, was claimed to be 'unapproachable' by the guys. Varun said that she didn't open up enough and dumped her. The other 2 to be dumped were Simran and Vani. So that ended the first episode of Splitsvilla where 3 girls were eliminated in the first episode.
