Kismat Konnection: First Look

The Story (Synopsis)

Desperate to fight his cursed kismat (luck), architect Raj(Shahid Kapoor) meets a quirky oracle, Hasina Bano Jaan (Juhi Chawla). She tells him that soon his stars will change and make everything work in his favour. But for all this to happen, Raj has first to find his lucky charm and never let go of it.


Then suddenly and almost miraculously Raj’s life is on the right track. He's managed to impress top builder Sanjeev Gill (Om Puri) into giving him a prestigious project.

Raj succeeds in persuading pretty Priya (Vidya Balan) a social activist, that he's the Messiah who can save her beloved Community Center from destruction?

Does this mean that Raj has unwittingly discovered his lucky charm? Has lady luck finally decided to smile on him?

Where will his newfound kismat ultimately lead Raj – to the height of love or pinnacle of success? Only ‘Kismat Konnection’ can tell?

The Characters

Raj Malhotra(Shahid Kapoor)

In college Raj Malhotra (Shahid Kapur) was numero uno. In academics, sports, dramatics and touted as the next cover of Time magazine. But four years after winning the best-student-of-the-year trophy from his architectural college, he's wondering why a brilliant architect like him, with designs to set the Canadian landscape on fire, is still struggling to find that One Big Chance to showcase his mettle.

Priya (Vidya Balan)

Priya is a tough-talking, tough-decision taking girl with a heart of gold. She is an idealist who is intent on making the world a better, more humane place and is quite willing to fight a lone battle for it. She is a doer who believes in action. Life for her is clearly colored in blacks and whites. Shades of grey have no role for her. She will give her all to her causes, her people and her love and expect nothing less in return.

Hasina Bano Jaan (Juhi Chawla)

She is a fortune-teller with a zany sense of talking and dressing. Gifted with clairvoyance and intuitive powers, she talks in riddles while predicting people’s future and charges 10 dollars from her clients.

Hiten Patel (Vishal Malhotra)

He is Raj’s best friend and partner. An architect himself, Hiten is impulsive and eager to rush into situations without thinking things through.

Cast & Crew

Directed by the famous Aziz Mirza, the director of successful films like 'Chalte Chalte', 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani', 'Yes Boss' and 'Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman', who has indeed moved on with the times, there are high hopes for 'Kismat Konnection'.

The music of this romantic film has been scored by Music directors Pritam and duo talents Sajid- Wajid. After the smashit Pehli Nazar Mein, singing sensation Atif Aslam has sung a track for the film.
