Jimmy - Mimmoh Chakraborty Launched

There is yet another new star on the block - Mimoh Chakraborty. His new movie 'Jimmy' has been released today. After a long await, son of olden times 'disco' superstar Mithunda, has been finally launched.

About the movie

The film has got all the elements of a bollywood blockbuster - murder, courtroom scene, melodrama, hate culminating in love, exemplary friendship, betrayal in friendship, running through the jungle, hero behind bars and everything else.

Jimmy starts with the very well known long shot moving to mid shot moving to close up of a police station and telephone which is ringing. Rahul Dev, the ACP picks up the phone and says 'Hello'.
Now that's what we call a thriller! The quintessential beginning of a stereotypical thriller which has been done over and over and over again in Bollywood opens the movie. Then a murder is unearthed and Jimmy is discovered to be the the murderer in exactly the first five minutes of the film.

Then a song and dance starts with the song called 'Why not Jimmy?' and he is arrested. Jimmy (played by Mimoh) is summoned to the courtroom where he accepts his guilt and is sentenced to hang till death. And then by the time interval happens we see Jimmy hanging to death! But wait thats just a dream.

Did any 70s hero commit murders? Jimmy did not either. The story follows with a look into Jimmy's past and finds out why he was forced to own up to this murder. Jimmy, an automobile engineer (working in a garage, WOW) by the day and a DJ (who plays less and dances more) by the night, to repay his father's debt had taken money from a businessman who had apparently killed the girl (who is also the ACP's sister). Jimmy had also found out that he has brain tumour (last stage at that) and so he agrees to give up the life of which he anyways did not have much left.

There is one scene where Jimmy faints and later his girlfriend, played by newcomer Vivana, tries to talk him into seeing a doctor.
There is another scene where Jimmy's good friend played by Zulfi Syed stands in the middle of a circle formed by lawyers telling them, how to get Jimmy justice. The scene is not only absurd but ridiculously funny.

However, with such comic relief scattered in between, which were not meant to be funny in the first place, the movie continues. Jimmy gets to know that his tumour is actually non existent and he can have a good life ahead. And the doctor tells Jimmy (a prisoner sentenced to death) that he has a good life (A GOOD LIFE!!!) ahead and wishes him all the best.

And now the vengeful Jimmy wants to find out the person behind his troubles. He runs away from the hospital. The police, Rahul Dev chases him. His mother cries. His girlfriend sings sad songs. And finally they find out that the killer is actually Jimmy's best friend, Zulfi Syed (who has a lisping problem we believe and can't act for nuts). And he frames Jimmy because…he is in love with his girlfriend! Now that is a good story, what say.....
