Rahul Gandhi was born, on 19th June 1970, Rajiv Gandhi (former Prime Minister of India) and Sonia Gandhi (Current Congress President). The Nehru – Gandhi Family is an Indian Political family which has been dominant in Indian National Congress. Rahul Gandhi is the youngest member of the family who entered the active politics. Rahul Gandhi’s political career started in March 2004 when he announced to contest in May 2004 elections. He won the Lok Sabha elections from his father’s constituency of Amethi in UP. He won by a margin of 3,00,500 votes.
In 15th Lok Sabha Elctions he reatained his seat from Amethi constituency and defeated his rivals by 3,33,000 votes. In total Congress won 21 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. The credit for this success goes to Rahul Gandhi as he spoke at 125 rallies across the nation in just 6 weeks.
