Got this info from the official site: Hayabusa is priced at $12,000. With 100% import tax, I would say it come to Rs. 9.6 lakhs ($24,000*40). The above Yamaha, Honda & Kawasaki models are similarly priced.

Well unfortunately not we all r able to get hold of Imp bikes cuz of high costs n stuff So i did opt. for a gud bike Modification which more or less gives a gud feel while driving as the compliments does flow surplusouly indeed U become a center point of attraction around while driving I'v got 2 Karizma's modified and now this has anyhow got me into BIKE MODIFICATION Business. Hi meenakshi, I appreciate the work you have done to provide with the information above but I also believe that any true bike lover must have already gathered these information in a special folder in his/her mainframe. As we all know these high speed machines carry big figures behind, have solutions with the import concerns, registration, basic duty, custom duty, and other test clearances and many more. It would be really great if you can advise these bike lovers with a proper guidance to import or buy a sport bike a legal way through correct importers & dealers in india. I am a g.designer in dubai and have seen the bike market here but getting the speed devils with you to india is big time arduous job. All the best.

For new import duty 120% and for old about 150%.Indviduals are not allowed to import.Companies or thru transfer of residence{NRI}.Else you will have to pay penalty which is variable.And for imported bike registration charges is 21% of bike cost+import duty+shipping charge.And be careful about buying imported bikes available in india, check all the original documents.Now a days,DRI [dept of revenue intelligence ] is seizing the bikes for which full duty has not been paid,especially below 800cc bikes.300% fine will put on current owner.

Chris, Please dont spread rumors. Anyone in India can Import a superbike from any part of the world. Ms Dhoni Never lived abroad but he imported his hummer from Australia, His Ninja etc. by paying a duty of 105%. I had imported my superbike from Dubai at 105%. Today all major importers like yamaha, suzuki honda's dont pay 105% duties nor do they give you bill of entry copies to end customers, which is a must to support your geniune ownership of imported vechicles. They roughly pay around 60% thats all guys. I had worked for these companies earlier so i know. They import without the tyres and mirrors. There are various procedures to import and accord. to the clause are duty structure. Anyone today can aquire a import licence. My family members are working as Sup. DRI , Police, Income Tax , Preventive Officers. All these raids of SBK's are carried at the instance of these company's official coz they arn't able to sell their bikes like the grey market ones. All these 47 years why were there no raids on such grey market bikes. For the last 20 years I have imported my bikes from US, Dubai etc and used it the way I wanted and later on sold them. Todays superbikes owners were just little kids during my days watching me the way i ride them. In Chennai bikes get cleared by paying 85% duty till today if u get caught u have to pay the balance duty plus intrest of 18% on the balance duty for the period. I guess Bike lovers who import finally pays more duties compared to companies. Please dont mislead anyone out here. Under wrong information act you could be jailed.

Anything above 600cc is a pure waste considering our climatic condition, roads filled with potholes, congested Roads, etc. Anything above 600cc would heat up extensively thus ruining engine life. Also my friend has suffered from back problems and doctors have adviced him not to ride sports bikes anymore. Guys Consider these points in mind. i guess tourer bikes are the best option.

Hi Varun, Dont get fooled by such ads, there are no superbikes available for 2 or 3 lakhs. A imported bike even its a 2nd hand with no duty plus shipping itself will cost you roughly around 3 lakhs. Add another 1,50,000 to 2,50,000 duty so roughly these bikes will be around 5 lakhs to 6 lakhs. So dont fall for these ads. In chennai some one collected huge cash and dispeared promising superbikes so cheap. Becareful. Bikez.biz website is full of fake ads. Pl be careful.

Dear Abhi, If you want a trouble free bike less run and really really tension free you should increase your budget to atleast 4.5 lakhs. I dont understand you shoul dnot buy a 600cc bike which cost you 2 or 2.5 lakhs. Work on such bikes would cost you another 2 to 3 lakhs. I remember one guy bought it for 2 lakhs and finally after sometime he had to overhaul the entire engine which costed him 2.75 lakhs. Parts are not that cheap plus the mechanic would add up to the margins. I advice you do increase your budget make it a decent one atleast 4.5 lakhs and you will be happy life time. I do have a Yamaha Fazer 600, with a r6 engine, Bike is in mint condition, just 3300 Kms run. Its of my close relative who has gone back to work in UK. But he shall not be giving away less than 4.5 lakhs.Clear Papers.

Most of the superbikes in grey market are really with Zero Duty or less duty or bought as spares. Incase if you are caught your bike is gone plus you got to pay penatly for the same. Nearly 600 hundred bikes are seized by DRI Dept and Local Police is helping along with RTO. so please dont buy anything from Grey market and do insist on Orginal bill of entry papers and before buying a superbike do check it with the DRI. Many are selling their bikes very cheap. And Yes below 800cc bikes are banned in India. Take care

All these bikes are with 24% duty paid and imported as spares parts. RTO in India is helping the DRI with names and addresses. Please Do not buy, even the Bill of entry copies are fake. Present owners are selling and shifting their burden on others. Some gain money others loose.
