Swayambhu Ganapati Temple
The Swayambhu Ganpati Temple is famous for its unique Ganapati idol and is built on the Ganpatipule Beach. The idol of Ganapati here is made out of copper and depicts the God astride a lion. Celebrated as the Paschim Dwardevta the diety is placed in the sanctum sanctorum and at sunrise and sunset a shaft of golden light penetrates and illuminates the idol.
Karhateshwar Temple
Karhateshwar Devsthan is situated in the village Nandiwade near the Jaigad Fort. The temple is of wooden structure, built during the regime of Shilaharas built on the slopes of the hill by the side of seashore . In the night, temple is closed for visitors.
Keshavsut Memmorial
Keshavsut Memmorial is a delight for a person intersted in Marathi literature. The house of the great Marathi Poet Keshavsut is preserved in Malgund as a monument 2 Kms from Ganpatipule. You can visit the room where the great poet was born. Behind this house there is a gallery giving information of all great Marathi Poets and a small library with a reading hall with some of the rare books of the poet.
Laxmi Keshav Temple
Lakshmi Keshav temple in Kolisare, is a beautifully built temple which has been recently renovated. The idol is five feet in height with four hands holding conch (Shankh) chakra, Gada, and Padma (lotus flower). On its right is an eagle.
Jaigad Fort
The 17th century Jaigad fort about 15 KMs from Ganapatipule offer some beautiful sea views especially during evenings. Now in ruins Jaigad Fort is a perfect place to have a picnic perched on a cliff overlooking the confluence of River Sangameshwar and the arabian sea.
Ganpatipule Beach
In Ganpatipule there are secluded beaches right from Jaigad to Ratnagiri seperated from each other only by rocky cliffs. The beaches are largely white sand with slight mix of fine black sand in places. The only beach with shops and shacks near by id the Ganpatipule beach near the Ganpatipule temple. There are a few resorts also located right on the beach slightly away from the Ganpatipule temple.
Ganpatipule Beach
Ganpatipule beach is one of the most beautiful white sand beaches amongst the Konkan beaches. With the Ganapati temple on the shores rendering a peaceful atmosphere, Ganpatipule is as close as you can get to a perfect holiday destination in Konkan. With food stalls horse riding and camel rides Ganpatipule beach has a complete vibe of leisure written all over it.
Ril Beach
There are many beaches on the way to Jaigad from Ganpatipule with the road running parallel to the beach for quite a distance. Ril beach is one of them. Totally secluded stretch of beach visit this beach only if you want to enjoy some solitude away from everything.
Malgund Beach
A beach far less frequented this long stretch of beach with a mixture of white and black sand is a safe beach for a swim and ideal for a romantic walk on the beach in Ganpatipule.T here is a small private aquarium also near the beach.
Ratnagiri
The drive from Ganpatipule to Ratnagiri by the sea through Bhandarpule Aare and Waare is one of the most beautiful drives that you can undertake in the entire Konkan coast. Ratnagiri the port city famous for its alphonso mangoes also has many a tourist delights.
