Different styles of Draping a saree (Pictures)

I believe that saree draping is an art that evolves with a lot of practice. Though for beginners draping a saree is not less than rocket science but for an expert it is a cheese walk. In the beginning it may take up to few hours to properly tie up the saree but once you expertise in draping, it will not take more than 5 minutes. Once you know and are comfortable in draping a saree, then you can practice different styles of wearing or wrapping a saree.

Try these out, create your own style of wrapping or just perfect the style you prefer. Just remember to wear your saree neatly, custom tailor/alter your blouse and be confident in what you're wearing.

Click here to know about The most common way of draping a saree. Following are various styles of draping / wearing / wrapping a saree.

Another style of wrapping a saree is the double drape. Here an extra wrap is taken and the pleats are not tied together rather they a bit apart (tucked in at a distance).

This style doesn't go well with the blouse. However, this style will go well with a spaghetti strap or strapless saree blouse. It might even work quite well with short sleeves, as long as the neck is cut wide and square.

The side pleats are really giving this look a unique and trendy feel.
