Adventure Getaway - White Water Rafting Near Pune

Kundalika River is a white water rafting destination near Pune. White water rafting is an adventure sport popular in North India but now you can enjoy rafting near Pune as well. Located at a distance of 100 Km from Pune city is the Kundalika River. The site is just a perfect getaway to escape from your daily routine of life. The whole journey is an awesome experience; the drive to the rafting spot is scenic & beautiful and the rafting experience is out of this world.

Kundalika : Located amidst of Sahyadri hills of Maharashtra, Kundalika is relatively unknown to many in Pune and Mumbai. However, quite popular amongst those who have been to this beautiful place. Sahyadri range is the highest rainfall region of Maharashtra. It is Small River, which is about 10 km long. The main water source of this river is the excess water from various dam and hydroelectric projects from the areas near Mulshi. It is located at a distance of 100 km from Pune and about 120 km away from Mumbai.

Rafting at Kundalika : Earlier Kundalika was a little unknown place in Sahyadris, but it is now becoming an adventure sport destination near Pune and Mumbai. It is ideal for short overnight or day trips or a getaway destination. Rafting is conducted on the river using the rapids generated by the rushing water released from the dam. Rafting of grade II and III can also be experienced over a 12 Km circuit and can be enjoyed all day in the monsoon, or to coincide with the timing of the release of water from the dam during other times of the year. Rafting here is sometimes unavailable in the peak of summer, when the water becomes scarce. Rafting season basically starts from July till December. The cost varies from package to package and operator to operator.

On the bank of River Kundalika are many retreats and farm houses with Mango and Water Melon as the chief Fruit product and Rice and Nachni as the chief farm produce as the soil is very rich in minerals and the ample water via canals fed from River Kundalika's clean water.

  • Distance - 10 km on the water.
  • Rapids - 10 ranging from Grade 2 to Grade 3.
  • Duration - Approx. 1 hr and 45 minutes (depends on the flow of water).
  • Reporting Time : 0815 hours. Start of Rafting is dependent on release of water from the Dam.
  • Rafting Duration : 1 hour 45 minutes (approximately)
